MissViaggio in Copenhagen

11 December 2022

Traveling through Scandinavian countries is easy when it comes to gluten-free diets. Denmark's capital Copenhagen is no exception. I only had one day, but I tried my way through the gluten-free food scene.

Naturbageriet

Naturbageriet is the perfect place to buy breakfast or lunch while exploring Copenhagen. It's a tiny bakery with a great selection of gluten-free (and vegan) breakfast options, cakes and cookies. I was very happy to have found this place and ordered more than I could eat at once because I just couldn't decide what to have: Mysli risbrød (muesli rice bread), the Danish dream cake Drømmekage (sponge cake with sugary coconut topping), focaccia and a cinnamon roll. Everything I tried was delicious - so be sure to stop by on your trip. However, please note: There are no seating options.

Naturbageriet offers a great variety of gluten-free options.

42raw

Sightseeing makes for a hungry tummy that needs to be satisfied. My first attempt to visit 42raw was unsuccessful because they close early in the evening. So this time I arrive at lunchtime. The restaurant is modern and requires self-service. 42raw offers healthy bowls, burgers and sandwiches. Gluten-free brunch is also available, though all gluten-free options cost extra. I opted for the green burger with a vegan patty and romaine salad, tomato, cucumber and avocado.

The green burger was really good.
